But if Acid is notable for its prophetic fusion, its real treasures-the bass-heavy, eight-minute jam “Espiritu Libre” and the minimalist title track, with its relentless Afro-Cuban drums-are not so much ahead of their time as they are removed from time, difficult to assign to a particular decade or hemisphere. Its combination of Cuban roots and R&B vamping clearly foreshadows the more mainstream Latin rock of Carlos Santana. Still, these moments are ultimately outshone by the pure, virtuosic salsa workout of “El Nuevo Barretto,” which opens the album. Its strongest soul/boogaloo tracks have a Memphis-via-Harlem swing that captures the fierce, aspirational joy of mid-’60s soul. It’s a missing link between the insanely catchy yet quickly dated Latin boogaloo sound of the early ’60s-a New York phenomenon that Barretto helped take international with his hit “El Watusi”-and the more expansive, Afrocentric Latin sound of the 1970s. Listen: Phil Ochs: “I Ain’t Marching Anymore”Īlthough not nearly as “out there” as its title and artwork suggest, Ray Barretto’s 1968 experiment in Nuyorican soul is nevertheless an essential trip. These songs succeed as both art and political critique it’s just unfortunate that, 50 years later, not one of them sounds like the relic of a less enlightened time. “Here’s to the State of Mississippi” closes the album with a vividly painted panorama of enforced ignorance, systemic bigotry, and police violence. The rousing title track is an allegory of a mythical soldier who’s spent over 150 years fighting for America and can no longer stomach imperialist violence. Ochs’ most memorable songs make their points through poignant storytelling. The hilarious “Draft Dodger Rag” finds a would-be soldier telling the draft board he’s got epilepsy, a ruptured spleen, and, by the way, “I always carry a purse.” He also issues a scathing leftist critique of labor unions’ racism, over violently strummed acoustic guitar, on “Links on the Chain.” But Phil Ochs, a self-described “singing journalist” and a Dylan for the student-radical set, recorded some of the funniest, smartest, and prettiest tracks of the ’60s on his second album, I Ain’t Marching Anymore. Aesthetes who sneer at so-called “protest music” like to pretend that all songs with political agendas are strident statements of the obvious-sermons devoid of beauty, nuance, and especially humor.

Am i missing any step? As far as settings go, i've watched plenty of videos on youtube on how to get better results but all of them seems to be aimed for gamers. This lag increases as the video continues to play and becomes more exacerbated if I switch away. Though Bluestacks is the best emulator, many people hesitate to use Bluestacks because it consumes a large amount of storage and lagging performance in. When I add a VLC source (playlist) with more than one video, the audio lags behind the video. Please let me know how I can resolve this issue. Hi all, I'm using OBS Studio to run a virtual conference with videos from speakers that are pre-recorded and am running into audio issues. But using this method left me with no audio, as the audio is coming from my camera and not from window capture mode. On my laptop, when I use the window capture plugin to capture my VLC (this time acting as the encoder), it runs smooth, as smooth as the VLC video source plugin suppose to be. Uses VLC Player as a built-in media player. It is stuttering, choppy and dropping too many frames. If on return, the Bluestacks engine still wont start then change the number of CPU cores allowed for. This will be located on the left sidebar. (Or simply press Ctrl+P) Then click on the Icon on which it is written Input/Codecs. The caching value here is set in milliseconds, modify the default 300 to 600/1000, which is 0.6 seconds or 1 second. Open VLC Media player, Click on Tools > Preference. But unfortunately the encoder on OBS does not perform as good as the one on VLC. If the VLC skipping and lagging playback is caused by the high definition video on your local hard drive, then increase the value after 'File caching (ms)'. When OBS studio came with the VLC video source plugin, I'm happy to use it as I can start live streaming on platforms such as facebook, via OBS, using OBS as the encoder that will encode my stream signal to my computer instead of VLC. No stutter or drop frames or whatsoever showing up on VLC. The encoding and the results I get straight from VLC is smooth as silk. Helps achieve a more stable frame rate depending on the specific game and system To turn Game Mode on or off: Press the Start button, type Settings in the search box, and then select Settings. I am also using VLC is an encoder that will encode the stream signal from my camera to my computer. I am doing video live streaming from a pro video camera, Sony X70.
